Block paving Ross On Wye. The existing driveway was originally tarmaced but had now started to break up and become unsightly. The owners had now decided to renew the driveway using block paviors using the popular brindle/charcoal combination in standard Paviors to complement the brickwork of the property. The original sub base was of good construction so once the old Tarmac was removed this was regraded and compacted and a layer of sharpe sand added. Once compacted and screened the Paviors are laid in a herringbone pattern and all cuts completed before the kiln dried sand is swept in to complete the driveway. Due to the expanse of the driveway and the close proximity to the road , three metal sleeves were set close to the edge of the driveway to allow three removable metal posts and a chain to be used to deter any unwanted turning of general passing traffic.
