This project involved converting the old pub car park into two separate car parking areas which would be linked with a path across the front of the house ,also leading to the front door. These parking areas would then be split by a new lawned area to help lose the old puplic house look . First we removed the old Tarmac surface, then we excavated the area to be lawn to a depth of 300mm removing all hardcore. Next a new line of roadside kerbs were concreted in place to mark the property boundary. Step three involved regrading and compacting the existing sub base ,concreting the edgeing inplace and forming a drainage channel linked to a new soak away. Step four involved laying and compacting the sharpe sand and laying Marshals tegula paviors in harvest colour . We used one size in the paviors allowing a herring bone patern to be laid before kiln dried sand was compacted into the paviors. Finally top soil was added to the new lawn area ,then turfed . The now house as been totally transformed from the old public house car park to two separate parking areas ,broken up by by a contrasting lawned area .
