This project involved removing a existing concrete garage base ,then excavating a area for a new garage base and driveway area.
The new concrete garage base was for a two bay garage and additional work shop area. Once the area had been excavated to the correct level a 150 mm sub base is compacted followed by the setting out of the area for the concrete slab for the garage floor. The concrete slab for the garage consisted of a damp proof membrane laid on a sand blinding over the sub base then a 4 inch thick slab of concrete. Once dried a single course of engineering bricks are laid to the dimensions of the garage to be constructed . Along with the concrete base a duct for electric and a water pipe were laid from the house to the garage base and a area stone up ready for the pending driveway.
