This project involved creating a new parking area to a property in Cinderford Gloucestershire. Once the area was excavated and the sub base compacted,a layer of sharp sand is compacted and screened. Finally the paviors are laid, these were a new pavior by Marshall’s called coppice. Three colours were used, pennant grey and oak blend as a border with cedar blend as the main colour in the centre.

This new build at Goodrich near Ross on wye required the finishing touch to complete the project . This involved paving paths around the house and along side the garage with a standard brindle pavior then paving the driveway with a brindle porous pavior that will help with drainage of any surface water to help alleviate any problems from flooding.
The build of a porous paved driveway differs from a standard paved driveway by using a 20mm angular chipping as a sub base layer and then using 6mm angular chippings instead of sharp sand. This allows surface water to soak away evenly into the ground under the driveway.
Finally the remaining driveway in front of the garage was finished off with a 14mm Forest of Dean chippings also to aid with drainage and create a contrast to the paving.
