This project involved laying a new patio and a new driveway. First off all the old patio was removed and the preparation work carried out, which involved the sub base layer and drainage to tackle the ground water coming in fro the ground behind the property, this was achieved by incorporating a perforated drainage pipe into the sub base and connecting into the storm water system. Next a textured buff paving slab was laid to brighten up the area and provide a non slip surface. The second part of the project required breaking up the old concrete driveway and widening it to provide easier access and a larger parking area. Although this was a small driveway it required a large amount of work due to the difference in height between the neighbouring driveway. To achieve the difference in height a line of concrete paving slabs were concrete upright ,then a line of Paviors were concreted around the edge to provide a border to the driveway . Once all the preparation work was completed the finished surface was laid consisting of a base course and a 45/10 HRA surface course.
