This project involved excavating an earth floor in a property that had caused damp issues in the house itself. The existing quarry tiles had been removed by the owner and cleaned ready to be relaid once the new floor was ready.
First the earth floor was excavated by hand and carted away. Next a layer of sub base was laid and compacted followed by a blinding of sand and a damp proof membrane laid. Next a 100mm kingsan insulation board is laid and then a 100mm concrete floor is laid.
The floor is then left to fully dry before a screed is laid and the old quarry tiles relaid .

Finishing touches , old quarry tiles now relaid from the original old floor .
