We had recently carried out a large amount of work at this property which included paving the driveway and entrance along with building two new brick pillars for the new entrance gates.
We had also carried out a couple of sections of fencing at the same time, due to this we were asked to find a solution to covering an existing concrete post and close board panel fence with something in keeping with the existing property.
The previous builder had used red cedar to clad part of the existing building. Due to this we decided to use cedar again for the fence. The existing fence provided a solid structure for the new fence to be built around.
First we fixed 100mm – 50mm treated timbers to the existing concrete posts . Next we used western red cedar select prestige VG tongue and groove cladding to cover the existing fence. 20mm -144mm boards were vertical fixed to the cross timbers using stainless steel nails that were hidden nailed into the groves of the boards. 100mm-50mm cedar timbers we’re also used at 10 ft intervals to give the effect of a post to break up the expanse of boards and give a fence look rather than a large unbroken length of cladding.
