This new driveway had previously been excavated , stoned and left to settle and was ready to pave . First step was to edge the drive with concrete kerb edging set on a concrete haunch ,to contain the paviors when laid. Next the sharpe sand is laid and compacted before being screened to the correct levels and falls. Finally the paviors are laid in a 45 degree herringbone pattern with the final cuts made before the kiln dried sand is sweeped in to the jionts and the paviors compacted with a compactor plate fitted with a rubber Matt fitted .
