This post shows two recent projects that we have carried out over the last couple of weeks. One involved creating a new play area at Bromsberrow school for the younger children that would have a car track painted on it when completed to provide an entertaining play area for the children. We excavated the area prior to kerbing the edges and compacting the sub base layer. Finally a new Tarmac surface was laid by hand. The other project involved replacing and old concrete driveway in Hereford that had been resurfaced poorly some years ago. First the old concrete is broken up and taken away for recycling at our yard. Next new concrete edging is concreted in place and the sub base layer compacted in two stages, once with a trench rammer to make sure the old base had no voids left between the old sub base layer. Next a new layer of sub base is compacted using a heavy duty diesel compaction plate. Once all preparation work had been completed a new Tarmac surface was laid to complete the driveway.
