Five new properties being built in Hanley castle Worcestershire were now nearing completion and required a connection to the main sewer located in the highway.
Once all the relevant paperwork had been completed work was able to commence. Traffic lights were set up and the main sewer pipe was located in the highway first. Next a section of pipe is removed and a new swept T is installed to provide a new connection. New pipe work was then laid on a pea gravel bed to the site for the boundary manhole. Pipe work was then covered in pea gravel before being back filled to tarmac level.
Next the site for the new manhole is excavated and metal sheet piles and shoring is put in place allowing for the new concrete ring manhole to be constructed. The new manhole is the encased in concrete before the final reinstatement is completed and the traffic lights removed .
