This project involved extending an old driveway to provide extra parking for the owners and visitors. First the grass area was excavated and a stone sub base compacted . Next the old concrete driveway was broken up and removed before a stone sub base compacted. The edge against the new fence had a new line off concrete kerbs installed to provide a sound edge . A layer of sharpe sand approx 30mm in depth was compacted and screened to the correct shape and falls before the paviors were laid and the edge cuts completed . Finally the kiln dried sand is swept in and a final compaction of the paviors using a plate compacter fitted with a protective rubber Mat to protect the paviors. The finished drive now provides an parking area for several cars .
