This large driveway in chacley,Gloucestershire was original finished in a 20 mm chipping when the property was built. Over the coming years the chippings had become worn and untidy and the wooden edging had rotted away. First of all the old chippings were removed and the old board edging replaced with a concrete edging kerb set in concrete. The finished surface for the parking area in front of the house which is relatively flat was to be Newbury flint. Once the sub base layer had been regraded and compacted an additional edging of a pavior to match the colours of the chippings was added prior to the chippings being laid. The remaining area of the driveway had a incline down to the road, due to this the area required a solid surface and tarmac was chosen. An additional line of heavy duty kerbs were installed at the road edge to denote the new driveway from the road . Once again the sub base layer is regraded and compacted before the base course is laid. Finally the area is finished with a hard wearing 45/10 HRA surface course to complete the project.
