This recently completed stunning barn conversion in Suckley Worcestershire was now in need of the finishing touches outside ready to enjoy the coming summer months. The bulk of the ground works and retaining walls had already been completed by the builder and our job was to complete the patio and steps so the walls and steps could be rendered to complete the project. First the sub base layer is compacted to the correct levels so the laying of the patio can start. The ever popular India sandstone was chosen with it’s stunning array of colours to complement the stone work in the barn conversion walls. The 5 size project packs were used to give a random patern. All slabs are laid on a wet full mortar bed with the underside of the slabs coated with a PVA solution to aid adhesion and strength to the patio. New ressed inspection covers were fitted to help blend in to the patio along with a socket for a rotary washing line. Once the slab laying was completed the patio is pointed using a buff coloured resin mortar to complement the slabs and Leave a frost and weed free resistance mortar joint.
