This proJect involved turning an area of 150 sq meters of old lawn and existing tarmac drive into a block paved parking area for two cars plus a large caravan . The whole area was excavated to a depth of 250mm before a layer of 150mm sub base was compacted and a concrete kerb edging concreted in place around the primiter of the drive . Next a layer of sharpe sand was compacted and screened to the correct falls enabling the water run off to drain into the adjacent flower beds . Finally the paviors were laid ,a charcoal border with a red inset and brindle as the infill . Last the edge paviors were cut and kiln dried sand swept into the joints before a final compaction with a compaction plate fitted with a rubber mat to protect the paviors.
