This project involved the demolition of a 1970s swimming pool that had become unsightly and expensive to heat due to British summer weather. Firstly the pool was emptied, then some of the surrounding patio area was removed and taken to our yard for recycling before the pool surrounding and bottom were broken out using a concert breaker to aid drainage once the pool was back filled . The first layers were a gravel soil mix which was compacted in layers to once again help drainage of the area. Next layers of sub soil were compacted before a layer of topsoil was compacted and raked ready for grass seeding. This left a usable area that also made the rear garden look much bigger in size .
