This project in Hereford involved removing the existing tarmac drive,then widening it by removing part of the front garden along with the removal of several large shrubs. Once the excavations were completed,the new area was edged with a concrete kerb set in concrete along with new drainage channels installed and connected to a new soak away installed in the remaining garden area. Next the sub base is added and compacted to the correct levels and falls before the sharpe sand is added and compacted. The next stage involves screening the sand to the correct levels and falls so the paviors can be laid. Marshalls savanna paviors were chosen in a pennant grey colour with a charcoal standard pavior incorporated in to the border. The paviors were laid in a herringbone pattern using the large sized pavior to create this pattern creating a off set herringbone patern. Once all the cutting of the paviors had been completed ,kiln dried sand is swept into the jionts and the paviors are given a final compaction using a vibrating plate fitted with a rubber mat to protect the paviors. Due to the wet conditions a further visit will be required to sweep additional Sand in when completely dry.
