New tarmac drive Monmouth with clay paviors as edging . The original drive had become broken up and the old concrete kerbs misshapen and along with this the turning area needed widening . First the turning area was widened and the sub base compacted . Next the old Tarmac surface and kerbs were removed before the whole drive was edged in a clay brindle Pavior set on a concrete base ,clay Paviors are known to retain their colour for longer compared to concrete paviors. The sub base layer is then regraded and compacted to leave the correct falls and a depth of 75mm for the new Tarmac finish . Finally a 45mm layer of base binder and a surface course of 55/10 HRA is machine layed to complete the project .
